Two decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind’s new space defenses be enough?

The aliens are coming and their goal is to invade and destroy Earth. Fighting superior technology, mankind’s best weapon is the will to survive.

The film focuses on the battle between ESD (Earth Space Defense), an international military defense organization, and the returning alien invaders during the twentieth anniversary of humanity’s first victory against the latter on July 4 – the same date as the Independence Day in the United States.

Film tersebut dijadwalkan dirilis pada 24 Juni 2016 oleh 20th Century Fox dalam bentuk 2D, 3D dan IMAX 3D.
